Karl Lagerfeld Inaugurates Champs Elysées Illuminations

Like every year, the most beautiful avenue in the world will be enlighten every night by sumptuous illuminations from 6pm to 2am and all night long for Christmas and New Years Eve. The theme chosen by the stakeholders of the event is “Flamboyance” and will be composed of a rain of shooting stars going up the 400 trees of the avenue. The town hall of Paris chose Karl Lagerfeld as the sponsor of the demonstration and will inaugurate this magical moment on the 22nd of November 2018 at 6pm ! The Hotel Pastel, located 10 minutes walking from the avenue and the Arc-de-Triomphe offers you the opportunity to participate to this magical event. Ground Control Opening on the Champs Elysées

Ground control invests a famous place of the Champs Elysees, “La Galerie 26”. This ephemeral space define itself as a lively place multidisciplinary, independent, a space of artistic creation and cultural diffusion, a place of experimentation and discovery around the city life and the “living together”. This new space has a capacity of 200 people and should open in December for a ten months duration. The concept is to offer a large variety of services and atmospheres and in particular a food offer driven by Stéphane Jégot. The Armistice Centenary

The 11th of November 2018, World War 1 ended with the Armistice signature, following four years of violent fights. One hundred years later, WWI French Soldiers, also called “Les Poilus” are not here anymore to testify. In order to commemorate this historical date, the city of Paris organizes events from the 6th of October until the 30th of November 2018. On the program, concerts, orchestras, musical readings, round-table discussions, movie-conferences, expositions, promenades, guided tours, ceremonies and the inauguration of the new Parisian war memorial. The details of the activities proposed are available on the city official website. During this period, the Hôtel Pastel*** welcomes you only few minutes walking from Le Petit Palais where two of the events will take place and near Charles de Gaulle Etoile station, real hub of the Parisian transports.

Sleepless night in Paris

The Parisian Sleepless Nights made Paris dream. For this 17th edition, the event will take place on the 6th of October 2018 and will be directed by Gaël Charbau, independent curator and artistic advisor for Universcience. From 7 PM to 7 AM, Parisians and travelers have a date with Art in the city of lights, full artistic masterpieces and artists representations. At this occasion, public transports will be maintained all night long and various restaurants will stay open until dawn. Neandertal, l’Expo

The Musée de l’Homme welcome you until September 7th of 2019 to make you discover Neanderthal men. The public is invited to discover their behaviors and habits through objects and fossils obtained from the Museum collections or landed by famous french and europeans institutions. Europe Heritage Days

More than 30 years ago, the ministry of culture and communication created the European Heritage days that invite you to discover or rediscover Parisian monuments for free. For a week end in the year, various animations are organized and allow for unusual tours and even visits in closed to public places like the Palais de l’Elysée.   Discover unavoidable places like Matignon, the Orsay Museum or the Arc de Triomphe but also contemporary monuments like Paris’ Philharmonic, the Louis Vuitton foundation or the City of design and fashion.   For this 2018 edition that will take place the 15th and the 16th of September, the city of Paris honors Cultural Heritage and the art of sharing.   Share this moment in family or with friends at the Hôtel Pastel and discover the cultural and artistic charms of the French capital under a new face.

Impressionists in London

At the end of the XIXth century, the Franco-Prussian War, the fall of the second French Empire and Paris Commune encouraged a large diversity of artists to run away and to live in United Kingdom.
